Synopsis: While driving through the sprawling farm land in Bakersfield, California the filmmaker presses his father to revisit the time when he was a small town Rabbi fighting along side the legendary union organizer Cesar Chavez for farm worker’s rights. The Rabbi and Cesar Chavez is a road trip movie about family mythology, social justice, an assassination plot on Cesar Chavez that was buried in history, and how a son finds a brief moment in his father’s past when he became a hero.

Synopsis: my olympic summer chronicles the subterranean currents of the filmmaker’s parents’ young marriage, set againt he historical backdrop of the taking of hostages at the Munich Olympic games of 1972. Their story indirectly parallels and comments on the filmmaker’s own recent failed marriage in this exploration of how we perceive homemovies.
